Galaxy Note 8 vs Galaxy S8+: What We Know So Far

Galaxy Note 8 vs Galaxy S8+: What We Know So Far

Waiting for the Galaxy Note 8 release date won’t be easy and we’re here to tell you if it’s worth waiting for, or if you should buy the Galaxy S8+ now instead. This is what we know so far about the Galaxy Note 8 release and how the two compare.

Recent Galaxy Note 8 rumors point to some major changes that should have potential buyers excited. From dual cameras on the back to a bigger bezel-free Infinity Display similar to the Galaxy S8.

And while the release date is roughly three months away, some are wondering if it’s worth waiting for. Will the screen be bigger? Are the changes worth the wait or should I buy the Galaxy S8+ now instead?

These are fair questions to ask, especially considering we know a great deal about the Galaxy Note 8 already. There are a lot of great Android smartphones available right now, and one of the best is the Galaxy S8+.

Samsung is reportedly planning a phone with its biggest screen to date, although rumors are back and forth regarding the size. Not to mention two or even three powerful new cameras on the back. Offering an improved camera experience similar to the iPhone 7 Plus or LG G6. While those are two important aspects for most buyers, everyone has different needs and wants. Meaning dual cameras might not be important to everyone.

With a big phone like the Galaxy S8+ already available waiting for the Galaxy Note 8 is hard, especially if the changes aren’t what you’re looking for. Even more so if you’re one of the millions of Note 7 refugees that had to return Samsung’s last Note after the recall.

So, for those of you on the fence, we want to help you make the right decision. This guide takes you through some important details and information about the Galaxy Note 8, the latest rumors, then compares it to the Galaxy S8+.

Galaxy Note 8 vs Galaxy S8+: Display

The most important aspect of the Galaxy Note 8 for many will likely be the display. Note fans are used to having a huge screen, and this year it’s bigger than ever before.

In fact, rumors suggest the Galaxy Note 8 will deliver a massive 6.3-inch Quad-HD Infinity Display. The sides are curved and bleed off the sides of the body, and the bezels on the top and bottom are extremely small. Just like the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ from earlier this year.

Samsung manages to offer a big 6.3-inch screen without making the phone physically bigger than past devices, thanks to these small bezels and the removal of the physical home button. Giving us more screen real-estate in the same small form factor.

That sounds great but there’s one small problem. The Galaxy S8+ is available right now and it has a 6.2-inch Quad-HD Infinity Display too. Meaning you aren’t getting too much more by waiting.

However, there is a chance the screen will come in at 6.4-inches instead. The Galaxy S7 went from 5-inches to 5.8 while the S7 Edge went from 5.5-inches to 6.2-inches. Taking that into consideration it is fair to assume the Note 8 will increase from 5.7-inches to 6.4-inches in size. Giving us a little more space to enjoy.

So far every leak states the screen is 6.3-inches which is only a hair bigger than the current S8+. Whether or not that is important, only you can decide.

Just know the screen will be bigger and better all without making the phone physically huge. At the same time, the glass is curved, which some don’t like. If that’s the case you won’t want any recent phone from Samsung.
